Physic Garden

Back to Kitchen by Mike

physic (ˈfɪzɪk)
1.  the art or skill of healing
2. a medicine, especially a cathartic

Kitchen by Mike has always focused on fresh, seasonal food and in doing so has unconsciously endorsed and promoted healthy eating – preparing meals with produce that is local and with as little done to the ingredients as possible is paramount. The Physic Garden parallels our kitchen ethos of “less is more” and endeavors to promote food in its purest form as nature’s medicine.

The garden is divided into 5 beds and is full of plants, herbs, fruit and vegetables arranged according to their traditional medicinal uses:
Musculoskeletal and Cardiology – Ginger, Turmeric, Jalapeno, Holy Basil
Gastroenterology – Dandelion, Coriander, Dill, Oregano, Peppermint
Neurology – Rosemary, English Lavender, German Chamomile, Lemon Balm
Ear Nose Throat – Nasturtium, Italian Parsley, Burdock
Dermatology – Thyme, Sage, Marjoram

Mike’s groundbreaking Physic Garden from Rosebery has been replanted at the Sydney International Airport.
